The access to OKbase may be made more secure by setting up two-factor authentication with Google Authenticator. By using this method user can only log in to OKbase after entering his/her regular password together with one-time password generated in his/her mobile phone.

This method is especially recommended to those people who share their computer with others or are used to saving their passwords in the browser.

Setting Up Two-factor Authentication

  1. Install Google Authenticator application on your Android or iOS mobile phone.
  2. Ask the HR department to turn the two-way authentication on for your account by sending mail to hr@uochb.cas.cz and wait for confirmation.
  3. Login in to OKbase using your standard password.
    1. If it is your first login after enabling the two-way authentication, you will be presented with the QR code. Start the Google Authenticator app on your cell phone, press the + button, press Scan a QR code and scan a code displayed on your PC screen. Your phone is now paired to your account in OKbase. Enter the 6-digit code generated by your phone to the login window of OKbase. Warning: If you are not presented with the QR code, immediately contact HR department - your authentication to OKbase can be compromised.
    2. If your phone is already paired with your OKbase account, start the Google Authenticator app on your phone and retype the generated 6-digit number to the login dialogue when prompted.
  4. If you lose your phone, accidentally delete the pairing between you phone and your account, uninstall Google Authenticator, or if your authentication just stops working, contact the HR department immediately.

In case of technical problems with Google Authenticator installation and setup please contact the ITS support team.
