Integration of SOGo to the Thunderbird client

This tutorial describes how to integrate SOGo into the Thunderbird client. If you have not the confidence to configure the integration yourself, please contact the tým support team. The instructions are valid for Thunderbird version 102.0.1 and higher, where native network directory support has been added. Since earlier versions only supported this feature via plugins, you must update Thunderbird to the latest version available.

How to Remove Address Books

If you were using an older version of Thunderbird with add-ons, it is advisable to remove the directories they created. These are the IOCB Addressbook, IOCB Groups, or IOCB personal. These directories are no longer up to date and would create duplicates. You can find these directories in the Contacts tab. If you have not used these add-ons you can skip this section.

Remove inactive add-ons via the Menu in the top right corner. Remove the TbSync and CalDAV & CardDAV Provider.

 

 

Contact Integration and Calendar Connection

CONTACT INTEGRATION

open the Contacts tab and select Add CardDav Contacts Folder.

Select your e-mail login as Username, enter https://sogo.uochb.cas.cz in the Address field and enter your password for your email account in the next step.

 

 

 

Once you have successfully logged in, select the Address Books you want to use.

  • IOCB Addressbook - all IOCB staff email addresses.
  • IOCB Groups – list of all groups and group leader email contact.
  • Osobní kontakty on Sogo (if you use them, they can be synchronized both ways, i.e. changes will be reflected on both sides).

 


CALENDAR CONNECTION

You can connect your online calendars with Thundebird if you use them. Open the Calendar tab, then select the + button On the network.

In the Address field, enter sogo.uochb.cas.cz in the next step, select your e-mail login as Username, for your e-mail account (password may not be required if you added contacts in the first step). Finally, select the calendars you want to use in Thunderbird.
