Folder sharing with Samba server
OS of Windows type use protocol Microsoft SMB (Server Message Block) known also as CIFS (Common Internet File System). This protocol allows sharing of files, folders, printers, etc.

In Linux, this protocol is implemented in form of Samba package under GNU General Public license. The system integrates OS of Windows type into linux networks. No special software on the side of Windows system is needed.
Data sharing inside or among the groups is possible through file server mikal.uochb.cas.cz (147.231.122.7). Its main purpose is for data exchange: group members can freely save, delete or change data at given disk space. For the data exchange among groups, the folder named share was designed to public access.
The data space is created on RAID 6 disk array to ensure functionality even in the case of two disks failure. Regarding the reliability and the size of disk space, no additional backup of the content is provided. The data space per user is limited to 36 GB and can be individually adapted.
