What is the CONCERT Japan?

The CONCERT- Japan joint Calls aim to support sustainable and multilateral research cooperation, especially promoting the transnational mobility between European and Japanese researchers, through enhancing inter-regional communication and cooperation; increasing and developing opportunities for high quality research networking between researchers; developing new partnerships and strengthening existing ones and exchanging existing knowledge and creating new knowledge. The Czech research teams are supported by the MEYS or the CAS. This call focuses on research around the development of sustainable hydrogen technology. See more details in the Call Summary  

 

Who can apply for the CONCERT Japan?

Consortium of at least 3 eligible beneficiaries: one from Japan and two from two different participating European countries (senior researchers, junior researchers, postdocs) represented by the principal project leader.

How to apply for the CONCERT Japan?

 

Role of the Project Partner

 

P1) Discuss the proposal with all project partners and prepare your parts for the joint proposal CONCERT Japan application form.
  • Your name, affiliation and CV with the 5 most relevant publications of the last 10 years;
  • Your budget overview (total costs per category and brief description);
  • Participate on preparation of the joint project description part.

 

Role of the Project Coordinator
  1. Find and read programme guidelines:
  2. Identify relevant project partners and further team members you would like to work with. Negotiate and justify roles, activities and responsibilities of all partners in the project. Designate the main Project Coordinator of the consortium, who will be responsible for a submission of the joint proposal via electronic submission system.
  3. Contact the host institutions and negotiate the institutional support. For IOCB official agreement is necessary to complete the project request form   . Please, contact the Project Office.
  4. Together with other PIs elaborate the research idea. Work closely with the other PIs and allow time for others to review the draft proposal. The information given in the proposal is binding.

C1) Register the joint project proposal in the electronic submission system and fill in online sections of the application. Read and follow Guidelines  

C2) Coordinate the preparation of the offline joint proposal (use template uploaded from the submission system):
Proposal consist of following parts: Project description: abstract, objectives, coordination and management, scientific excellence, work plan, methodology, envisaged types of activities, involvement of each partner, financial plan, expected impact, added values of multilateral cooperation.

C3) Finalize the offline application form (respect the format and length limitation of each section) and convert all parts to a single PDF document and upload it to the project account using the electronic submission system. Ensure that the data uploaded to the electronic system are identical with the data in the offline application form. Please be aware that the online data entry may be overloaded on the days of the deadlines. It is therefore recommended to transfer all obligatory data in good time.

Be aware that eligible costs and funding provisions may vary according to the respective national/regional funding organizations’ regulations.

  1. Complete mandatory national application for a relevant provider
    • For the MEYS: there is no need for an additional application..A copy of the joint proposal should be sent to the MEYS via databox. Please contact the Project Office for support with the submission. Max. contribution is € 600,000 per project. The eligible costs are in accordance with Act. No 130/2002 Coll.
    • For the CAS: An additional application is required (abstract, summary of the Czech team research plans, description of the Czech team, CV of the Czech Principal investigator) - in total 3 pages. Please contact the Project Office for the further support and the CAS application form.
    • Max. contribution is € 120,000 per project. Restrictions on eligible costs categories apply.

Deadline for submission of the joint proposal (done by the Project Coordinator) and national application to the MEYS or the CAS is on Fri 09 July 2021 10:00 CEST (IOCB deadline Thu 01 July 2021).

 


 

  • Final results will be announcement in Dec 2021.
  • The grant start date is expected April 2022.
