General information

Eduroam is an international project promoting the mobility of users in academic networks. In all the organizations participating in this project, the users can connect to the internet using the same credentials. To connect, the user must have the eduroam account in his/her home institution (IOCB employees have the eduroam account automatically enabled – login: personal_number@uochb.cas.cz and Albina’s password) and configured device supporting wi-fi.

Eduroam installation

Installer download for all platforms from cat.eduroam.org or via QR code (mobile devices).

Rules of Connection

The rules for using the eduroam network are defined in the roaming policy (in Czech).

Access points in IOCB campus

Technical parameters of wireless network:

• SSID: eduroam
• configuration of devices - manuals
• geteduroam - various OS clients, after launch is necessary to choose IOCB from the offered institutions
• eduroamCAT - Eduroam installer for various OS: for Android 4.3 and higher is functional application eduroamCAT (Google Play), after launch is necessary to choose IOCB from the offered institutions; for Apple is eduroamCAT available in App Store
• IOCB employees – login: personal_number@uochb.cas.cz and Albina’s password
• Authentication: 802.1x (EAP)
• Secutity: WPA2
• Enctyption: AES
• Internet: IPv4, NAT, proxy
• Devices used: Cisco
• Root certificate: AAA Certificate Services
