Events for Employees

Off-site retreat

It is a several-day scientific conference where all groups from IOCB have the opportunity to present their projects in the form of lectures and posters and where a large number of scientists and students participate. Group leaders receive information in advance about how many members of their group can attend, and it is then the group leader who decides on the participation of individual persons. The retreat is usually held once every two years at the end of May outside Prague. Iva Bodnár is in charge of organizing the event.

General assembly of IOCB employees

The General assembly is an annual meeting of about two hours with the institute's management and staff in scientific and non-scientific positions. It is usually held at the beginning of the year in the Balling Hall of the National Library of Technology. The director presents the most important events and achievements of the previous year, outlines the outlook for the next year and introduces the staff to current challenges, news and opportunities concerning the institute. The assembly also includes a closing discussion and a Q&A session. The event is organized by Barbora Fričová.

Christmas gathering

The traditional pre-Christmas party is for all IOCB employees and retired colleagues, other guests are invited by the Director. It is a cultural and social event held in an attractive location in Prague. For capacity reasons, it is not intended for partners or family members of employees. The event is organized by Iva Bodnár.

Happy Hours

Several times a year, in the warmer season, informal evening gatherings with refreshments and occasional music are held for employees. The event is held on the grounds of the institute and on the roof of Building B, moving indoors in the event of bad weather. Happy Hours are intended as a networking opportunity for employees and are not intended for family members, friends or other outside visitors.
