What is the Alfred Bader Prize?
Award for young Czech researchers in chemistry for their excellent published research results. There are two subcategories:- Alfred Bader Prize for Organic Chemistry / Cena Alfreda Badera za organickou chemii (CAB-I)
- Alfred Bader Prize for Bioinorganic and Bioorganic Chemistry / Cena Alfreda Badera za bioanorganickou a bioorganickou chemii (CAB-II)
- Organic chemistry CAB–I in Summary

Who can apply for the Alfred Bader Prize?
- Young researchers with Czech citizenship up to 35 years.
- The applicant cannot reach the age of 36 in the year of the competition. The age limit is extended by the time spent on parental leave.
Why to apply for the Alfred Bader Prize?
- It contributes to boost and improve your track record.
- It increases visibility and recognition of your research.
- You can get financial support of $5400.
When to apply for the Alfred Bader Prize?
There are two deadlines a year:- 15 June for the Alfred Bader Prize for Organic Chemistry (CAB-I)
- 31 March for the Alfred Bader Prize for Bioinorganic and Bioorganic Chemistry (CAB-II)

How to apply for the Alfred Bader Prize?
- Find and read guidelines (available only in Czech).
- Contact your supervisor and ask for a Recommendation letter or contact the Project Office to secure a Recommendation letter from the IOCB Director.
- Complete your application
- Structured CV (applicant)
- Summary of the applicant's results (comment on the applicant's share in the given publications, diagrams and structures illustrating the results) (max. 8 pages) (applicant)
- List of publications - the correspondning author must be marked with an asterisk (applicant)
- Copies of scientific publications – in PDF format on an electronic medium (applicant)
- Finalize your application
The Project Office is prepared to cross-check your application and help you with the submission. - The application Submission:
- by the post (the paper version of the structured CV, the summary, the list of publications and the Recommendation letter. A CD or flash disc with the copy of your publications has to be enclosed).
- electronic version of your application (the structured CV, the summary, the list of publications and the Recommendation letter) will be sent by email to the csch@csch.cz.
Deadline for submitting the application for the Alfred Bader Prize is:
- 15 June - Organic Chemistry (CAB-I)
- 31 March - Bioinorganic and Bioorganic Chemistry (CAB-II)
