Who can be nominated for Česká hlava: Cena Doctorandus za přírodní vědy?

Ph.D. students and postdocs (up to 18 months after obtaining Ph.D. at the time of the award deadline); (Czech nationality only).

The nomination is annually: late June - mid July.
The nearest deadline is on: 11 July 2025

How to nominate for Česká hlava: Cena Doctorandus za přírodní vědy?

  Send information about your intended nomination to awards@uochb.cas.cz.  

  1. Find and read guidelines
  2. Contact two independent experts (at least one of whom does not work at the institution where the work was done) and ask them to provide you with Letters of recommendation.
  3. Fill in the online form with information about the participant (candidate)
    • the name and surname of the candidate;
    • date of birth;
    • home address, telephone, fax, e-mail;
    • name and address of the university or organisation where the work was produced (training institute);
    • a brief description of the candidate's student's professional or scientific work and activities (max. 1000 characters);
    • educational background;
    • current place of work;
    • date of graduation.
  4. Upload the competition work to the competition organiser's repository The link to access the repository is included in the automatic response after submitting the online entry form. The link can be used immediately or saved for later use. Required documents for the competition entry:
    • Description of the competition entry (description of the professional or scientific work, results achieved and use or application).
    • Brief curriculum vitae of the candidate (maximum 3600 characters - 2 standard pages).
    • A letter of recommendation from the supervisor and two independent experts, at least one of whom is not employed by the school or organisation where the work originated (the letters of recommendation must be signed and scanned with the full work).
