Who can be nominated for the Hlávka Medal?
Outstanding personalities of the Czech science.
Why nominate for the Hlávka Medal?
- It is a recognition of the candidate’s contribution to science.
- To increase credibility and visibility of outstanding researcher.
- To receive a certificate and a financial bonus of 90,000 CZK.
When to nominate for the Hlávka Medal?
- The nomination is annually: July.
- The nomination must be submitted via the Czech Academy of Sciences (CAS). Deadlines for individual stages of the process are announced annually via the CAS Head Office.
The nomination is a two stage process:
- Stage 1: the CAS pre-selection – late June
- Stage 2: Hlávka Foundation deadline – late July
The nearest deadline:
Stage 1: 30 June 2025 (IOCB deadline 15 June 2025 – approval by the IOCB Board required)
How to nominate for the Hlávka Medal?
- Find and read guidelines:
- Please inform the IOCB management of your interest to be nominated or to suggest a suitable candidate for this award. The nomination must be approved by the IOCB Board before being submitted to the Czech Academy of Sciences.
- The nomination has to be sent to the secretariat of the CAS Vice President for the Life and Chemical Sciences.
- The CAS President will submit the selected candidates on behalf of the CAS (max. 1 candidate) to the Board of Trustees of the Josef, Marie, and Zdeňka Hlávka Foundation.
