Child Care

  • Allowance for working parents: Parents with children under the age of 4 returning from maternity or parental leave can apply for IOCB’s support for parents of young children. Details can be found in the Internal directive Allowance for working parents with young children   (Application form  ).

  • Day care centres: IOCB employees are eligible to apply for day care under the Academy of Sciences at three locations available in Prague and also at the Zkumavka day care at the University of Chemistry and Technology (UCT Prague).

  • Children’s recreation: Employees with children under the age of 15 can apply, twice a year (summer and winter), for a contribution towards their child’s recreational or training camp (unsubsidised by school), details on Recreation for children of IOCB employees.

  • Support for parents of young children travelling to conferences: This support was negotiated with IOCB management in March 2019. Financial support from IOCB can be requested in specific cases when a parent(s) cannot travel to an important conference/meeting without her/his child(ren). Then, support from IOCB can be requested to cover flight tickets and accommodation for the child(ren) and accompanying person. Support is granted directly by the director of the Institute based on a justification letter from the applicant and a recommendation from her/his supervisor. Send your documents to Pavlína Řezáčová.

  • Kidsstuff mailing list: there is an internal mailing list for offering/asking for children’s clothes, toys, books, equipment, etc. To be added to it, contact Blanka Collis.
