What is the National Applied Research Laboratories Internship Program?
National Applied Research Laboratories (NARLabs) offer internship opportunities to foreign undergraduate, master and Ph.D. students. Through this program, NARLabs intends to provide scholarship to students, who are interested in a hands-on research and practical experience at one of NARLabs’ research centers. The goal of the program is to introduce students to scientific and technological development in Taiwan. Students working in one of the following fields can apply: (1) Earth & Environment, (2) Information & Communication Technology, (3) Biomedical Technology, (4) Science & Technology Policy. Ph.D. students and Masters students
Why apply for the National Applied Research Laboratories Internship Program?
- To spend 10-16 weeks in a research laboratory in Taiwan
- To gain hands-on research and practical experience at one of NARLabs’ research centers
- To gain international experience
- To have an introduction to scientific and technological development in Taiwan
When to apply for the National Applied Research Laboratories Internship Program?
Applications are accepted on a running basis, but must be submitted by the end of August 2025. You will be notified of the selection result within 2 months of the application.

How to apply for the National Applied Research Laboratories Internship Program?
- Find and read guidelines::
- Contact two referees to provide you with a letter of reference.
- Obtain your latest academic transcript
- Fill in your application form, including personal information, current institution, positions and awards in the last three years, description of current studies, statement of purpose, choice of host research center, contact details of two referees.

Prepare the application documents and email them to siwang1218@narlabs.org.tw between 1 Jan and 31 Aug 2025.
This should include:
- Application form (typed) (applicant)
- Two recommendation letters (typed) (referees & applicant)
- Latest official academic transcript (applicant)
- Certificate of Enrollment
- A copy of photo page of passport (applicant)
- A headshot photo (applicant)
- Optional supporting documents: English or Chinese proficiency test scores (applicant)
The applications will be evaluated on a running basis. You should be informed of the outcome within two months of submitting your application.
