The Waste Management Group deals mainly with the disposal of hazardous waste. We prepare waste for transport and disposal in accordance with applicable legal regulations, in particular with the
Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR). The group also fulfills legal obligations of an administrative nature, such as waste registration, processing the basic waste
description and safety data sheets for hazardous waste, sending reports required by state institutions, granting permits for handling hazardous waste and monitoring legislative changes.
We mainly dispose of the following types of waste:
- WASTE SOLVENTS: according the Waste Act № 541/2020 Coll. we have an obligation to classify solvents into chlorinated and non-chlorinated.
Place chlorinated solvents at the collection point in a blue canister or marked with a blue tape. Place non-chlorinated solvents at the collection point in a black canister.
Full barrels are analyzed for chlorine content and the disposal price depends on the chlorine result. Therefore, a strict classification of solvents into chlorinated and non-chlorinated is necessary. - DISCARDED CHEMICALS: discarded or degraded chemicals mark by the exact name of responsible person and telephone number. Then (by prior arrangement) bring the chemicals to the
office B.1.26 and take them to the staff of the Waste management group
Beware of compounds that can create explosive peroxides!!! - GLASS WASTE: throw only glass containing residues of hazardous chemicals (that cannot be washed or evaporated) into the hazardous waste container. Other glass belongs in the green container for sorted waste.
- NEEDLES OR OTHER SHARP OBJECTS: the collection of these objects is only possible in the yellow containers designated for this purpose. These containers are available at the Paper warehouse. Always close the filled yellow container with the red lid before handing it in.
- GMO: sterilization takes place in an autoclave before disposal itself, and even after that it is treated as hazardous waste. We have registered a large increase in this waste during recent years. Submit for autoclaving only material that has come into contact with GMOs.
- BATTERIES: put in the plastic box in front of the Paper warehouse.
We also accept used toner cartridges, oils, silica gel, expired drugs, packaging containing residues of dangerous substances. In case of any questions, do not hesitate to contact us.
