• The applicant must be an active research scientist running their own research laboratory on an independent position in an eligible country (Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Poland, Slovenia and Turkey).
• The host laboratory must be based in an EMBC Member State, Associated Member State or Cooperation Partner.
• The home and host laboratories must be based in different countries.
• In order for the home laboratory to benefit from the exchange, on completion of the grant, applicants are required to immediately return to their home laboratory where they must remain for at least six consecutive months. A signed letter in English from the home institution after this period is required as proof.
• The fact that an applicant has previously held an EMBO Fellowship or grant does not preclude further applications for a fellowship for a new project in a different laboratory.
• The Advanced Collaboration Grant cannot be held at the same time as another EMBO Fellowship. If the applicant holds another EMBO award at the time of intended submission, the applicant must contact the EMBO Office in advance for clarification and approval.
• Reapplication is only possible twelve months after the end of the previous ACG or, in the case of unsuccessful applicants, the date of application.
• Applicants requesting to visit research groups in which they have existing collaborative grants and finances are not eligible.
• Successful applicants must wait six months to reapply with a new project.
• EMBO ACG cannot fund extensions to visits begun under other auspices, or as bridging fellowships between, or prior to, long term stays funded by EMBO or other organizations.
• Applications to attend courses, workshops, or symposia will not be considered.
• EMBO does not cover visa costs. EMBO cannot advise on visa or tax matters. Please refer to the administration in the host or home institutions for help on these issues.
• Applications to work on a project that is purely applied, intended to develop a product (commercial or not) or a procedure will not be considered. All projects must have a biological significance and should aim to increase our knowledge on a particular biological process.
• It is not possible to apply for an EMBO ACG if other, parallel exchanges are planned to take place between the home and the host laboratories during the planned grant duration. Short (one- or two-day) visits or seminar invitations are not considered in this category.
• If the applicant has secured additional funds or grants from other institutions to support the proposed visit, the applicant must notify the EMBO Fellowship Office immediately.
• Two sources of funding, including the EMBO grant may be allowed, but EMBO will deduct the amount of the other fellowship from the grant awarded as an EMBO ACG.

1. The biological significance of the proposal, including its aim to increase our knowledge on a particular biological process.

• The PI has to be ERC Grant holder of project that is ongoing or has ended less than 12 months before 01 Jan 2022.
• The PI has to demonstrate the relation between the idea to be taken to proof of concept and the ERC frontier research project (Starting, Consolidator, Advanced or Synergy) in question.
• The PI may submit only one proposal under each call of WP2022.
• The PI can submit the PoC proposal with a different HI than the one where the ERC Frontier Research Grant is being currently implemented.
• The PI whose proposal was rejected on the grounds of a breach of research integrity in the calls for proposals under WP 2020 or 2021 (i.e. ERC 2022 PoC1) may not submit a proposal to the calls under ERC 2022 PoC 2 call.
• There is no minimum commitment percentage of the working time required to the PI. The cumulative % commitment that the PI spends on the ERC PoC action and on the main ERC StG/CoG/AdG/SyG Grant does not exceed 100%.
• The host institution support letter needs to be printed on the paper with the official letterhead of the Host Institution, originally signed, stamped and dated by the institution´s legal representative.
• Document(s) in any other language must be provided together with a certified translation into English or into any other official EU language.
• Provide only the documents requested in the call. Unless specified in the call, any hyperlinks to other documents, embedded material, and any other documents (company brochures, CVs of team members, reports, audio, video, multimedia etc.) will be disregarded.

• MIT and Czech researcher apply together, via joint online application.
• MIT applicant must have Principal Investigator/ PI status (usually post-doc and above.
• Typically research teams include faculty/researchers & post-docs, and often graduate and even undergraduate students.
• All travel must be completed within 20 months.
• Maximum stay is two months; often multiple shorter visits are planned (e.g. two two-week visits).

• Can make an important contribution to the field

• Include a balanced exchange between participating teams

• Involve undergraduate and/or graduate students in a meaningful way

• Project proposals must be submitted in parallel to both national providers. Each national provider bears the costs of its own researchers.
• Guidelines are in Czech only. The project proposal must be written in Czech.
• The proposal has to be prepared in the new on-line application system
• The proposal must be submitted through the data box (datová schránka) vidaawt.
• The sum of workloads for one person in all projects INTER EXCELLENCE I. and II. funded by MSMT cannot exceed 1 FTE.
• Costs should be proposed in CZK, rounding to thousands is not required. Justification of all individual planned costs is required.
• Max size of the proposal file is 10 MB plus additional max. 100 MB for all annexes in total; 10 MB per file.

The project proposal consists of the following parts:

1. 2. The signature page(s) of the project proposal (generated by the ISIX system and signed by the director).
3. Annexes uploaded to the ISIX system:
   1. CV of the main PI and other key team members “Životopis hlavního řešitele a klíčových osob”;
   2. PDF file with graphics (pictures, tables, diagrams, ….), that can be part of the proposal (attached as PDF due to the technical limitation of the web application);
   3. Signed consent to the processing of personal data “Souhlas se zpracováním osobních údajů” must be uploaded to the application (required for PI and all team members);
   4. Signed agreement with the Slovak partner about the future collaboration on the joint project;
   5. Proposal of the Agreement on participation in the project “Návrh smlouvy o účasti na řešení projektu” (agreement between Czech partners – if relevant);
   6. Signed Statutory declaration of the eligibility to solve the project “Čestné prohlášení o způsobilosti k řešení projektu” must be uploaded to the application (required from IOCB and other Czech partner institutions);
   7. Special licences (if required for the project implementation).

• The Statutory declaration will be provided by the Project Office and must be uploaded to the proposal before final conversion to the PDF (required from IOCB and other Czech partner institutions).
• The project proposal has to be converted to PDF format and together with the generated first page of the proposal must be sent by email to the Project Office (projectoffice@uochb.cas.cz) who will submit it to the MEYS via its data box.
• The project proposal cannot be modified after the final PDF version is generated!
• Be aware that the MEYS deadline for reopening of the proposal is set to Mon 29 Nov 2021, 16:00 CET.

Projects proposals are evaluated separately at the national level, the final list of projects approved for funding is published after the comparison and merge of both national evaluations.

1. Eligible Researcher = Doctoral candidate (DC): Researcher of any nationality, at the first day of employment for the purposes of the action must be doctoral candidates, i.e. not already in possession of a doctoral degree.
2. Topic: bottom-up approach = proposals in all domains of research and technological development.
3. Recruitment: The recruited DC cannot have resided or carried out his/her main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the beneficiary for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before their recruitment date. Beneficiaries will be responsible for the selection and recruitment of the eligible researchers, they have to meet certain conditions relating to the publishing of vacancies, recruitment and length of appointment of researchers, in line with the principles set out in the European Charter and Code for Researchers. DN: every beneficiary must recruit, host at their premises and supervise at least 1 ESR. DN-ID: recruited researchers must spend at least 50% of their time in the non-academic sector. This inter-sectoral mobility must be international between beneficiaries. DN-JD: at least two-thirds of the supported Doctoral candidates must be enrolled in a joint, double or multiple degree within Europe, i. e. between two or more beneficiaries/partner organisations established in a MS* or AC*. For all recruitments, the eligibility of the researcher will be determined at the date of their first recruitment in the action. Limitation - a maximum of 540 person-months per network for DN and DN-JD.
4. Secondment: = a period of research training with another beneficiaries and/or associated partner organisations; should be relevant, feasible and beneficial for the researchers, and in line with the project objectives. DN - secondments of an individual researcher to other beneficiaries and/or associated partner organisations up to a maximum of 30% of their total recruitment period; DN-ID - at least 50% of his/her total recruitment time in the non-academic sector, total secondment duration to associated partner organisations (irrespective of the sector) is limited to a maximum of 30% of his/her total recruitment time; DN-JD - limitation of secondments to 30% of the total recruitment time apply. They must be financed using the Research, Training and Networking contribution. The virtual mobility can complement the physical mobility if necessary. They are an integral part of the research proposal and must be described in the proposal. Any subsequent changes in the secondment plan during the project implementation must be pre-approved by the European Research Executive Agency (REA).
5. Partnership Agreement: = outline of beneficiaries cooperation in the network (recruitment, supervision, IPR, distribution of units between beneficiaries etc.).

  Part B2 (PDF): (4) Participating organisations (organisation description - maximum 1 page per Beneficiary and half page per Associated Partner/ Associated Partner linked to a Beneficiary organisation), (5) Ethical issues, (6) Letters of Commitment (from Associated Partner organization(s) to demonstrate the credibility of the organisation's commitment to the DN pre-agreement letter for DN-JD participants awarding a joint/double or multiple degree.

• Excellence (50%): (1) Quality and pertinence of the project’s research and innovation objectives (and the extent to which they are ambitious, and go beyond the state of the art) (2) Soundness of the proposed methodology (including interdisciplinary approaches, consideration of the gender dimension and other diversity aspects if relevant for the research project, and the quality of open science practices) (3) Quality of the supervision (including mandatory joint supervision for DN-ID and DN-JD projects); (4) Quality of the proposed interaction between the participating organisations (transferable skills, inter/multidisciplinary, inter-sectoral and gender as well as other diversity aspects).
• Impact (30%): (1) Enhancing the career perspectives and employability of researchers; contribution to their skills development; (2) Contribution to structuring doctoral / early-stage research training at the European level and to strengthening European innovation capacity, including the potential for: a) meaningful contribution of the non-academic sector to the doctoral/research training, as appropriate to the implementation mode and research field b) developing sustainable joint doctoral degree structures (for EJD projects only); (3) Quality of the proposed measures to exploit and disseminate the project results (4) Quality of the proposed measures to communicate the project activities to different target audiences.
• Quality and efficiency of the implementation (20%): (1) Coherence and effectiveness of the work plan, including appropriateness of the allocation of tasks and resources, assessment of risks (2) Appropriateness of the infrastructure of the participating organisations; (3) Competences, experience and complementarity of the participating organisations and their commitment to the programme.

• Each Synergy proposal must demonstrate that its objectives can only be achieved through the specific combination of knowledge and skills brought together by the participating PIs.
• There are no predefined panels. Applicants should choose between 4–6 keywords (see chapter 4 Annexes in guidelines).
• One PI per Synergy Grant Group, except the corresponding PI, can be hosted or engaged by an institution outside of the EU or AC.
• Researchers of any age and career stage can apply. No specific eligibility criteria regarding the academic training are foreseen for PIs applying for ERC Synergy Grants. The PIs must present an early achievement track-record or a ten-year track-record, whichever is most appropriate for their career stage (Starting, Consolidator or Advanced).
• Starting (2-7 years after PhD) and Consolidator (7-12 years after PhD) : PIs should be able to demonstrate a promising track record of early achievements appropriate to their research field & career stage, e.g. significant publications (as main author) in leading international peer-reviewed journals, invited presentations at well-established conferences, granted patents, awards, prizes etc.
• Advanced: the PI´s record has to match or exceed one or more of the following benchmarks:
  1. 10 publications as main author in major international peer-reviewed multidisciplinary scientific journals;
  2. 3 major research monographs, of which at least one is translated into another language;
  3. 5 granted patents;
  4. 10 invited presentations in well-established international conferences;
  5. 3 research expeditions;
  6. organisation of 3 well-established international conferences;
  7. international recognition through scientific awards;
  8. major contributions to launching the careers of outstanding researchers;
  9. recognised leadership in industrial innovation.
• The PI has to spend at least 30% (≥0.3 FTE) of his/her working time on the project.
• The PI has to spend at least 50% (≥36 months) of his/her working time in an EU MS or AC.
• Researchers may participate as PI in only one ERC project at a time. Researchers participating as PI in an ERC project may not submit a proposal for another ERC grant, unless the existing project ends no more than 2 years after the call deadline.
• A PI may submit proposals to different main frontier research grant calls published under the same Work Programme, but only the first eligible proposal will be evaluated, the second proposal will be declared ineligible.
• Additional restrictions are related to the outcome of the evaluation in previous calls. They are designed to allow unsuccessful PIs the time necessary to develop a stronger proposal. Inadmissible and ineligible or withdrawn proposals do not count against any of the restrictions.
• The host institution of the Corresponding PI support letter needs to be printed on the paper with the official letterhead of the Host Institution, originally signed, stamped and dated by the institution´s legal representative.
• For Synergy Grants, PIs may be hosted by more than one Host Institution, and each of the Host Institutions shall offer their support to the PI(s) hosted by them for the duration of the grant.
• The PIs are expected to start the project within 6 months of receiving an invitation letter from the ERC.
• Applicants should be aware that it is mandatory to provide Open Access to all peer-reviewed scientific publications relating to the results from ERC projects.
• The ERC recommends that all funded researchers follow best practice by retaining files of research data produced and used, and are prepared to share these data with other researchers when not bound by copyright restrictions, confidentiality requirements, or contractual clauses.
• Copies of official documents can be submitted in any of the EU official languages. Document(s) in any other language must be provided together with a certified translation into English or into any other official EU language.
• Irrespective of any page limits, there is an overall limit of 10 Mbytes to the size of each uploaded document (Part B1, B2, and supporting documentation). However, it is advised to limit the size of Parts B1 and B2 to 2 Mbytes each.

Research Project: Ground-breaking nature, ambition and feasibility

1. To what extent does the proposed research address important challenges?
2. To what extent are the objectives ambitious and beyond the state of the art (e.g. novel concepts and approaches or development between or across disciplines)?
3. To what extent is the proposed research high risk/high gain (i.e. if successful the payoffs will be very significant, but there is a higher-than-normal risk that the research project does not entirely fulfil its aims)?
4. To what extent is the outlined scientific approach feasible bearing in mind the extent that the proposed research is high risk/high gain (based on the Extended Synopsis at Step 1)?
5. To what extent does the proposal go beyond what the individual PI could achieve alone (based on the Extended Synopsis at step 1)?
6. To what extent do the PIs succeed in proposing a combination of scientific approaches that are crucial to address the scope and complexity of the research questions to be tackled (based on the Extended Synopsis at step 1)?
7. To what extent are the proposed research methodology and working arrangements appropriate to achieve the goals of the project (to be assessed at Steps 2&3 based on Parts B1&B2)?
8. To what extent does the proposal involve the development of novel methodology (to be assessed at Steps 2&3 based on Parts B1&B2)?
9. To what extent are the proposed timescales, resources and PI commitment adequate and properly justified (to be assessed at Steps 2&3 based on Parts B1&B2)?

Principal Investigator: Intellectual capacity and creativity

10. To what extent have the PIs demonstrated the ability to conduct ground-breaking research?
11. To what extent do the PIs have the required scientific expertise and capacity to successfully execute the project?
12. To what extent does the Synergy Grant Group successfully demonstrate in the proposal that it brings together the know-how – such as skills, experience, expertise, disciplines, teams – necessary to address the proposed research question? (based on the Extended Synopsis)

• Applicants must furnish proof of high-level publications and proof of mobility (postdoctoral research activities lasting at least 12 months at a university other than the university that conferred the doctorate.
• The budget should be as detailed as possible (separate entries are required for equipment, access costs to infrastructure, consumables, travel, personnel, etc.).
• Costs for open access publications are not eligible costs.
• A research stay/s (secondment/s) of no more than 12 months at host institution/s possible.
• Resubmission of revised proposal is possible only once.
• The proposal must include a Data Management Plan (DMP) set up according to the requirements issued by the SNSF.

• Summary (max. 1 page): background and rationale, overall objectives, specific aims, the methods, expected results and their impact.
• Research plan (max.15 pages, 60 000 characters): current state of research in the field, current state of personal research, career plan, detailed research plan, data management plan, schedules and milestones, relevance and impact

Evaluation criteria:

• the applicant's scientific track record;
• the applicant's aptitude for an academic or academic-clinical career;
• the applicant's career progression and retrospective and prospective mobility; the SNSF may con-sider longer research stays abroad prior to completion of the doctorate from a mobility angle;
• scientific independence of the applicant at the chosen research institution and of the research project;
• scientific relevance, originality and topicality of the research project;
• approach and methodology of the research project as well as its feasibility and chances of success;
• suitability of the research institution as a place to conduct the research project as well as to strengthen and promote the applicant's scientific independence;
• if applicable, value that the requested stays at host institutions would add to the applicant's career and to the research project.

• Proposal of up to 15 pages.
• Identify your research challenge and explain how tackling it could lead to breakthroughs. Demonstrate how networking helps tackle the challenge. Present a detailed plan to reach your objectives in 4 years. Show you are able to engage the right stakeholders, having a balanced European participation, gender representation and various career stages. Explain how you will maximise the impact of your idea.
• At least 50 % of the budget has to be spent in widening countries (Inclusiveness Target Countries, ITCs).
• Network of proposers from at least 7 different COST Full or Cooperating Members with a minimum 50% of ITCs.
• Proposal has to be anonymous (in order to comply with the double-blind principle of the evaluation). There can be more than one proposer per institution, as long as it is clearly beneficial for the proposed Action. All proposers must have a registered and updated e-COST profile and specified expertise.

• The PI has to be ERC Grant holder of project that is ongoing or has ended less than 12 months before 01 Jan 2021.

• Host Institutions must be established in a country with a FEBS constituent society.
• Applicants must have a current membership of a FEBS Constituent Society.
• FEBS Excellence Awards are not granted to scientists who have been recipients of a FEBS Long-Term Fellowship preceding their current employment if the Host Institution is the same.
• In each call, no more than one candidate per given Host Institution will be granted an Excellence Award.
• The €100,000 of the FEBS Excellence Award is paid by FEBS to the Host Institution in three instalments over three years.
• The FEBS Excellence Award should be acknowledged in any work published relating to the project funded and a PDF or doi of each article should be sent electronically to the Chairperson of the Fellowships Committee.

• The PI is expected to be an active researcher with a track record of significant research achievements in the last 10 years which identifies him/her as an exceptional leader in terms of originality and significance of his/her research contributions.
• The PI´s record has to match or exceed one or more of the following benchmarks:
  1. 10 publications as main author in major international peer-reviewed multidisciplinary scientific journals;
  2. 3 major research monographs, of which at least one is translated into another language;
  3. 5 granted patents;
  4. 10 invited presentations in well-established international conferences;
  5. 3 research expeditions;
  6. organisation of 3 well-established international conferences;
  7. international recognition through scientific awards;
  8. major contributions to launching the careers of outstanding researchers;

• The PI has to spend at least 30% (≥0.3 FTE) of his/her working time on the project.

• Each project consortium should choose two project leaders, one from Japanese side and one from European side.
• One of the two project leaders (the “principal project leader”) will be responsible for submitting the proposal on behalf of the whole consortium.
• Project leaders may participate in only one project proposal.
• One (and only one) Principal Investigator (‘PI) will represent each beneficiary.
• Each partner need to respect the national/regional rules for funding.
• Researchers/research teams from countries not participating in this Call may participate as additional partners in a project consortium if they have secured funding from other sources.
• Project teams will be expected to attend and reserve budget for two joint workshops to be held within Europe (one mid-term and one final).

Joint project proposal: abstract, project description, objectives, coordination and management, scientific excellence, work plan, methodology, envisaged types of activities, involvement of each partner, financial plan, expected impact, added values of multilateral cooperation, CVs of main researchers with the 5 most relevant publications of the last ten years. Proposal in total 11 pages plus max. 1 page per researcher.

CAS: additional application: abstract, summary of the Czech team research plans, description of the Czech team, CV of the Czech Principal investigator (in total 3 pages)
or MEYS: no additional proposal, just copy of the joint proposal.

International, independent evaluation by at least two scientific peers.

Criteria:

1. Scientific excellence;
2. Impact of project results;
3. Implementation Maximum score 15 points; each criterion max. 5 points; no threshold.

• The tender documentation is only available in Czech. The proposal for a joint research project has to be prepared simultaneously by the Czech research team (based on MEYS call conditions and the foreign investigators (based on Programme Barrande 2021 conditions.
• The Czech and French parts of the project must be identical in terms of content and research themes.
• Several Czech research institutions can participate, however only one main proposer has to be designated on the Czech side of the joint research project.
• The proposal has to be submitted only via data box (datová schránka) vidaawt - this will be arranged by the Project office.
• The proposal has to be originally signed, stamped and dated by the institution´s legal representatives of all participating Czech institutions.

• Řešení projektu může obsahovat i nezbytné činnosti základního výzkumu, pokud na ně bezprostředně budou navazovat činnosti aplikovaného výzkumu (musí tvořit převážnou část řešení projektu). Deklarovaný výsledek návrhu projektu musí být jednoznačně zaměřen na využití ve zdravotnictví, musí být prokázána jeho aplikovatelnost a jednoznačný dopad do zdravotnictví.
• Navrhovatel/ spolunavrhovatel projektu musí mít akademický titul Ph.D. nebo jeho ekvivalent.
• Táž fyzická osoba může v této veřejné soutěži vystupovat pouze u jednoho návrhu projektu jako navrhovatel a u jednoho návrhu projektu jako spolunavrhovatel.
• Minimální výši úvazku na jednom projektu u jednoho zaměstnavatele pro řešitele i spoluřešitele ve výši 0,2. Nulová výše úvazku se nepřipouští; Součet všech úvazků hrazených z účelové podpory AZV může u jednoho pracovníka činit maximálně 100 % úvazku.
• Max. výše celkové dotace AZV na projekt na cestovné je pro 1. rok projektu max. 80 000 Kč, v dalších letech projektu max. 150 000 Kč.
• Je nutné dodržet předepsanou osnovu Části C1: úvod, popis projektu (formulace hypotézy, vyjádření podstaty projektu, formulace cíle/ů projektu a návaznost na program), metodika, časový harmonogram, očekávané výsledky, spolupráce, informace o (personální i materiálně technické) připravenosti navrhovatele, spolunavrhovatelů a jejich pracovišť, možnosti kooperací, zdůvodnění účasti všech spolunavrhovatelů a uvedených spolupracovníků, odkazy na použitou literaturu.

• Přidání dalších příloh bude důvodem k vyřazení z formálních důvodů.

• B – finanční prostředky (celkové, rozpis), včetně zdůvodnění
• C1 – zdůvodnění návrhu projektu (PDF, max. 10 str.; 3 MB) – anglicky
• C2 – odhad předpokládaných výsledků
• D1 - životopisy navrhovatele/spolunavrhovatelů (PDF, max. 2 str. /osoba) - anglicky
• D2 – bibliografie navrhovatelů a spolunavrhovatelů (vč. 8 významných výsledků)
• E – informace o dalších projektech navrhovatele a spolunavrhovatelů (za 3 roky)

• Maximální velikost souboru (včetně všech příloh) je omezena 10 MB.
• Návrh projektu musí být vyplněn v aplikaci ISVP, konvertován do formátu PDF podle návodu obsaženého v aplikaci a zaslán e-mailem do Projektové kanceláře (projectoffice@uochb.cas.cz), která zajistí jeho podání do AZV prostřednictvím informačního systému datových schránek.
• Zaslání dokladů k prokázání způsobilosti zajistí Projektová kancelář.
• Návrh projektu po vygenerování finální PDF verze nesmí být již modifikován, ani otevírán v aplikaci - porušení elektronické pečetě je důvodem k vyřazení návrhu projektu.

• Kvalita navrhovatele (odborné schopnosti, dosavadní výsledky, institucionální a technické zázemí);

• Call is organized as two stage procedure.
• Only in exceptional cases changes from Pre-Proposal to Full-Proposal are allowed.
• It is highly recommended that the project start and end dates are the same for all project parties.
• Proposal must address appropriate TRLs for selected Call 2021 topics.
• Participation of associated partners is possible, but they must secure own funding.
• Total effort of one single applicant cannot exceed 60% of the total project effort (measured in PM) and total effort of applicants from one country cannot exceed 70% of the total project effort.

• All partners are obliged to sign an agreement with their foreign partners (i.e. Consortium Agreement), which will define the modalities of cooperation on the project and the IPR, before signing the Agreement with the national funding organizations (CZ: TAČR).

• The principal investigator (person responsible for the professional level of the project - the PI of the main applicant (institution)) must have a minimum time commitment for working on the project set to 0.2 FTE per year.
• The costs of subcontracting procured for the purposes of the project are limited to 20% of the total eligible costs of all project participants for the entire duration of the project.
• In order to ensure objective evaluation of the results achieved, at least one separate result with an exclusive dedication to the project must be produced within the project.

The electronic version of the project proposal must be completed via the ISTA application.

The application contains the following parts:

• Documents to prove eligibility are sent through the applicant (institution)'s data box (provided by the project office)

Submission of the proposal in the ISTA system will generate a "Confirmation of the submission ". This confirmation must be sent by the main applicant (institution) via data box to the provider's data box by Wed 5 May 2021 at 23:59:59 (this will be arranged by the Project office)

The Provider will supply four opponent reviews in accordance with the internal methodological procedures for each project proposal. The following parameters will be evaluated:

• Quality of the research project (elaboration of the proposal, fulfillment of the program objectives, need, international overlap, feasibility, quality and contribution of the results);
• Quality of the project and implementation team, technical background;
• Economy, efficiency and effectiveness of financial costs.

• The tender documentation is only available in Czech.
• The proposal for a joint research project has to be prepared simultaneously by the Czech research team (based on MEYS call conditions) and the Austrian investigators (based on BMBWF call conditions).
• The Czech and Austrian parts of the project must be identical in terms of content and research themes.
• Austrian side: Only new project partnerships can be funded under this programme. Czech side: Only two rounds of the funding can be applied for with the same team composition.
• Austrian side: Project applications submitted by early-stage researchers as well as project applications with involvement of Ph.D./doctoral students and/or female researchers will be prioritized.
• Several Czech research institutions can participate, however only one main proposer has to be designated on the Czech side of the joint research project.
• The proposal has to be submitted only via data box (datová schránka) vidaawt – this will be arranged by the Project office.
• The proposal has to be originally signed, stamped and dated by the institution´s legal representatives of all participating Czech institutions.

Tedy osoba, která si podá návrh projektu JUNIOR STAR nebo projektu POSTDOC INDIVIDUAL FELLOWSHIP, si může podat ještě nejvýše dva další návrhy projektů, jeden v roli navrhovatele a druhý v roli spolunavrhovatele.
• Pracovní kapacita na projektu (úvazek) musí být alespoň 0,50 pro osobu navrhovatele, každého odborného a dalšího odborného spolupracovníka. Tento požadavek se netýká technických a administrativních pracovníků a studentů bakalářského a magisterského studia.
• Nulová pracovní kapacita se nepřipouští. Součet všech úvazků hrazených z účelové podpory GAČR může u jednoho pracovníka činit maximálně 100 % úvazku.
• Postdoktorandem se pro účely projektu rozumí osoba, která má nejvýše 8 let od obhajoby Ph.D. ke dni zahájení projektu (2.1. 2014 - 1.1.2022); do limitu se nezapočítává přerušení kariéry – mateřská, rodičovská, dlouhodobá nemoc apod.
• Za součást způsobilých personálních nákladů se nepovažují odměny.
• Mezinárodní zkušenost navrhovatele popsat v části A i D.
• Povolené přílohy (nahrát pouze do aplikace GRIS):

• Skládá se z částí:
  1. základní identifikační údaje, abstrakt (1100 znaků) a cíle projektu (300 znaků);
  2. celkové finanční prostředky, rozpis finančních položek, vč. zdůvodnění, podrobné vymezení osobních nákladů;
  3. (C1+C2) - zdůvodnění návrhu projektu a očekávané výsledky; (C1: limit 15 str.; 6 MB);
  4. (D1+D2) - CV a bibliografie navrhovatele; (D1: limit 2 str. na osobu; 1 MB);
  5. informace o dalších projektech.
• Návrh projektu musí být vyplněn a konvertován do formátu PDF podle návodu obsaženého v aplikaci a zaslán e-mailem do Projektové kanceláře (projectoffice@uochb.cas.cz), která zajistí jeho podání na GA ČR prostřednictvím informačního systému datových schránek.
• Návrh projektu po vygenerování finální PDF verze nesmí být již modifikován, ani otevírán v aplikaci - porušení elektronické pečetě je důvodem k vyřazení návrhu projektu.
• Zaslání dokladů k prokázání způsobilosti zajistí Projektová kancelář.

• Zaměření projektu (průlomová povaha a potenciální dopad, ambiciózní zaměření, „high risk/high gain“).
• Návrh způsobu řešení (vědecký přístup, vědecké metody a postupy časový rozvrh řešení).
• Schopnost a předpoklady navrhovatele a jeho odborných spolupracovníků (významné mezinárodní zkušenosti navrhovatele, vědecké výsledky).
• Připravenost uchazeče (technické a institucionální zázemí).
• Typ předpokládaných výsledků.
• Mezinárodní spolupráce.
• Přiměřenost finančních požadavků.

• Kladné hodnocení zahraniční části návrhu projektu nevytváří nárok na udělení grantu na mezinárodní projekt. Smlouva může být uzavřena jen v případě, že oba poskytovatelé rozhodnou kladně o udělení grantu.

• GAČR WEAVE (Lead Agency) podporuje bilaterální a trilaterální projekty základního výzkumu vykazující prvky opodstatněné spolupráce mezi zúčastněnými týmy ze 2–3 zemí zapojených v iniciativě WEAVE (Rakousko, Polsko, Slovinsko, Německo, Švýcarsko, Lucembursko, ČR). Navrhované projekty budou hodnoceny na základě Lead Agency principu tzn., že výzkumná stránka návrhu je hodnocena pouze Lead agenturou. Společný návrh projektu musí být připraven v souladu s formálními pokyny a předpisy hodnotící agentury. Ta zajistí celý hodnoticí proces v souladu se svými běžnými procedurami, pravidly a rozhodovacími procesy. Rozpočet je podáván zvlášť pro všechny týmy podle pravidel příslušné národní agentury. Každý poskytovatel financuje náklady svého národního týmu.
• Podmínkou je předložení společného návrhu zpracovaného společně českým a zahraničním účastníkem k vybrané „Lead“ agentuře (v tomto případě GAČR).
• Zahraniční navrhovatel musí zároveň podat návrh zahraniční části projektu u poskytovatele, s nímž GA ČR uzavřela smlouvu.
• Navrhovatelé mohou zvolit libovolnou agenturu do role Lead.

• Důležité upozornění ke spolupráci s NCN (Polsko): V případě, že v roli Lead Agency vystupuje GA ČR a rozpočet v eurech u polské části rozpočtu uvedený v žádosti podané u GA ČR se výrazně liší od rozpočtu ve zlotých uvedeného v žádosti podané u NCN do systému OSF, bude projekt vyřazen z formálních důvodů. Aktuálně platný kurz pro přepočet euro/zlotý je dostupný na stránkách NCN. Dalším důvodem pro vyřazení z formálních důvodů na straně NCN je nesoulad informací na české a polské straně v počtu členů týmů a jejich zařazení včetně výše požadovaných mezd.

• Formulář návrhu projektu se skládá z částí:
  1. základní identifikační údaje, abstrakt (1100 znaků) a cíle projektu (300 znaků);
  2. financial plan - celkové finanční prostředky, rozpis finančních položek, vč. zdůvodnění, podrobné vymezení osobních nákladů (v českém nebo anglickém jazyce); + Part B financial plan celkové finanční prostředky v € požadované od zahraničního poskytovatele na řešení zahraniční části projektu;
  3. (C1,C2 a C3) - zdůvodnění návrhu projektu, očekávané výsledky; popis přínosu mezinárodní spolupráce (C1:limit 15 str.; velikost písma 11; 6 MB);
  4. (D1+D2) - CV a bibliografie navrhovatele/spolunavrhovatelů; (D1: limit 2 str. na osobu; 1 MB) + CV zahraničního navrhovatele (bez limitu);
  5. informace o dalších projektech.

• Pokud navrhovatel projektu POSTDOC INDIVIDUAL FELLOWSHIP uspěje ve více veřejných soutěžích / výzvách, může řešit buď pouze tento projekt POSTDOC INDIVIDUAL FELLOWSHIP, nebo nejvýše dva další jiné projekty současně (jeden v roli navrhovatele a druhý v roli spolunavrhovatele).
• Řešitel projektu POSTDOC INDIVIDUAL FELLOWSHIP nesmí být současně řešitelem, spoluřešitelem ani se podílet na řešení v jiné roli jiného projektu GA ČR.
• Po dobu řešení projektu POSTDOC INDIVIDUAL FELLOWSHIP se řešitel nesmí účastnit v roli navrhovatele ani spolunavrhovatele žádné soutěže ani výzvy vyhlašované GA ČR s výjimkou návrhů podaných v posledním roce řešení projektu.
• Návrh projektu je možné podat i před termínem konání obhajoby, navrhovatel musí k návrhu projektu přiložit čestné prohlášení a doklad o získání akademického titulu Ph.D. (nebo ekvivalentu) zaslat GA ČR nejpozději do 10. října 2021.
• Pokud to charakter projektu vyžaduje, mohou na pracovišti příjemce na řešení projektu spolupracovat případně i techničtí pracovníci a studenti magisterského studia.
• Pracovní kapacita na projektu (úvazek) musí být alespoň 0,70 pro osobu navrhovatele.
• Součet úvazků všech dalších odborných spolupracovníků (studentů magisterského studia) a dalších spolupracovníků (techniků) nesmí přesáhnout 1,00; do součtu se nezapočítává kapacita pracovníků na DPP a DPČ.
• Nulová pracovní kapacita se nepřipouští. Součet všech úvazků hrazených z účelové podpory GAČR může u jednoho pracovníka činit maximálně 100 % úvazku.

• Formulář návrhu projektu jsou dostupné v internetové on-line aplikaci GRIS
• Skládá se z částí:
  1. základní identifikační údaje, abstrakt (1100 znaků) a cíle projektu (300 znaků);
  2. celkové finanční prostředky, rozpis finančních položek, vč. zdůvodnění, podrobné vymezení osobních nákladů (v českém jazyce); + celkové finanční prostředky v € požadované od zahraničního poskytovatele na řešení zahraniční části projektu;
  3. (C1+C2) - zdůvodnění návrhu projektu, očekávané výsledky; popis přínosu mezinárodní spolupráce (C1:limit 10 str.; 6 MB);
  4. (D1+D2) - CV a bibliografie navrhovatele/spolunavrhovatelů (D1: limit 2 str. na osobu; 1 MB) + CV zahraničního navrhovatele (bez limitu);
  5. informace o dalších projektech.
• Návrh projektu musí být vyplněn a konvertován do formátu PDF podle návodu obsaženého v aplikaci a zaslán e-mailem do Projektové kanceláře (projectoffice@uochb.cas.cz), která zajistí jeho podání na GA ČR prostřednictvím informačního systému datových schránek
• Návrh projektu po vygenerování finální PDF verze nesmí být již modifikován, ani otevírán v aplikaci - porušení elektronické pečetě je důvodem k vyřazení návrhu projektu.
• Zaslání dokladů k prokázání způsobilosti zajistí Projektová kancelář.

• Zaměření projektu (průlomová povaha a potenciální dopad, ambiciózní zaměření, „high risk/high gain“);
• Návrh způsobu řešení (vědecký přístup, vědecké metody a postupy časový rozvrh řešení);
• Schopnost a předpoklady navrhovatele (mezinárodní zkušenosti navrhovatele: kvalita a délka výzkumných zahraničních aktivit);
• Připravenost a kvalita uchazeče (technické a institucionální zázemí);
• Typ předpokládaných výsledků;
• Přiměřenost finančních požadavků.

• Jedna osoba může v rámci všech veřejných soutěží vyhlašovaných GA ČR v daném kalendářním roce s počátkem řešení v roce 2022 (s výjimkou uvedenou níže) a v rámci všech výzev, na kterých se GA ČR podílí, s počátkem řešení v roce 2022 podat maximálně dva návrhy projektů, a to jeden v roli navrhovatele a druhý v roli spolunavrhovatele.
• Pokud s oběma návrhy projektů uspěje, může řešit oba tyto projekty, pokud tomu nebrání jiná okolnost vyplývající z příslušné zadávací dokumentace nebo z příslušných pravidel.
• Výjimku tvoří tři veřejné soutěže na podporu projektů JUNIOR STAR a POSTDOC INDIVIDUAL FELLOWSHIP (INCOMING i OUTGOING), do kterých si navrhovatel může podat návrh nezávisle na ostatních soutěžích a výzvách. Tedy osoba, která si podá návrh projektu JUNIOR STAR nebo projektu POSTDOC INDIVIDUAL FELLOWSHIP, si může podat ještě nejvýše dva další návrhy projektů, jeden v roli navrhovatele a druhý v roli spolunavrhovatele.
• Jedna osoba si může podat buď pouze jeden návrh projektu JUNIOR STAR, nebo pouze jeden návrh projektu POSTDOC INDIVIDUAL FELLOWSHIP.
• Pokud navrhovatel projektu POSTDOC INDIVIDUAL FELLOWSHIP uspěje ve více veřejných soutěžích / výzvách, může řešit buď pouze tento projekt POSTDOC INDIVIDUAL FELLOWSHIP, nebo nejvýše dva další jiné projekty současně (jeden v roli navrhovatele a druhý v roli spolunavrhovatele).
• Řešitel projektu POSTDOC INDIVIDUAL FELLOWSHIP nesmí být současně řešitelem, spoluřešitelem ani se podílet na řešení v jiné roli jiného projektu GA ČR.
• Po dobu řešení projektu POSTDOC INDIVIDUAL FELLOWSHIP se řešitel nesmí účastnit v roli navrhovatele ani spolunavrhovatele žádné soutěže ani výzvy vyhlašované GA ČR s výjimkou návrhů podaných v posledním roce řešení projektu.
• Návrh projektu je možné podat i před termínem konání obhajoby, navrhovatel musí k návrhu projektu přiložit čestné prohlášení a doklad o získání akademického titulu Ph.D. (nebo ekvivalentu) zaslat GA ČR nejpozději do začátku řešení projektu.
• Plánovanou zahraniční vědeckou stáž navrhovatel popíše v návrhu projektu v části A, B a C.
• Předpokládaná délka trvání zahraniční vědecké stáže činí 730 dnů; aby následně mohl být ukončený projekt hodnocen jako „splněno“, je nutné stáž absolvovat alespoň v délce 670 dnů.
• Zahraniční vědecká stáž musí být absolvována pouze na jednom pracovišti.
• Po dobu trvání zahraniční stáže jsou materiální a nemateriální náklady a náklady na služby ze způsobilých nákladů vyloučeny.
• Náklady na zvýšení životních nákladů pro pobyt řešitele v zahraničí:
  1. Cestovní náhrady: Za dny první cesty z České republiky do místa výkonu práce a zpět přísluší řešiteli cestovní náhrady jako při zahraniční pracovní cestě (ust. §172 zákona č. 262/2006 Sb., zákoníku práce). Jestliže s řešitelem cestuje se souhlasem zaměstnavatele i člen rodiny, přísluší řešiteli i náhrada prokázaných jízdních, ubytovacích a nutných vedlejších výdajů, které vznikly tomuto členu rodiny;
  2. Pobytové náklady v místě: max. výše požadované dotace činí 25 % z dotace poskytovatele na mzdy; max. výše požadované dotace v případě, kdy bude řešitele do zahraničí následovat další osoba nebo osoby (např. manžel, manželka, partner, partnerka nebo nezaopatřené dítě apod.) činí 30 % z dotace poskytovatele na mzdy;
  3. Orientační přehled maximální dotace řešitele na mzdu a maximální dotace na zvýšení životních nákladů řešitele během pobytu řešitele v zahraničí podle místa řešení projektu v příloze.č 9 zadávací dokumentace.
• Po skončení zahraniční vědecké stáže musí navrhovatel (následně řešitel) absolvovat řešení projektu na pracovišti příjemce v ČR, a to po dobu minimálně 365 dnů.
• Pokud to charakter projektu vyžaduje, mohou na pracovišti příjemce na řešení projektu spolupracovat případně i techničtí pracovníci a studenti magisterského studia, pouze však v době, kdy řešitel působí na pracovišti příjemce v ČR.
• Pracovní kapacita na projektu (úvazek) musí být alespoň 0,70 pro osobu navrhovatele.
• Součet úvazků všech dalších odborných spolupracovníků (studentů magisterského studia) a dalších spolupracovníků (techniků) nesmí přesáhnout 1,00; do součtu se nezapočítává kapacita pracovníků na DPP a DPČ.
• Nulová pracovní kapacita se nepřipouští. Součet všech úvazků hrazených z účelové podpory GAČR může u jednoho pracovníka činit maximálně 100 % úvazku.
• Dotace na mzdu řešitele:
  1. max. 25 tis. Kč/měs. při 100% úvazku po dobu trvání zahraniční vědecké stáže;
  2. max. 60 tis. Kč/měs. při 100% úvazku po dobu řešení projektu na pracovišti příjemce v ČR.
• Dotace na mzdu ostatních členů týmu max. 35 tis. Kč/měs. při 100% úvazku.
• Za součást způsobilých personálních nákladů se nepovažují odměny.
• Mezinárodní zkušenost navrhovatele popsat v části A i D.
• Povolené přílohy (nahrát pouze do aplikace GRIS):
  1. kopie dokladu o ukončení doktorského studia navrhovatele;
  2. vyjádření podpory (Letter of Intent) stáže v rámci projektu ze strany oprávněného zástupce zahraniční instituce s explicitním uvedením délky stáže a uvedením názvu projektu (dle vzoru);
  3. seznam zahr. pracovišť, kterým neposílat návrh projektu k posouzení;
  4. nabídka obsahující identifikace dodavatele, předmětu dodávky a předběžné ceny – pokud dodávka/y od 1 dodavatele/ů je vyšší než 500 tis. Kč/projekt;

• Applicant has a Ph.D. awarded between 01 Jan 2009 and 31 Dec 2013 (7–12 years since completion of Ph.D., prior to 01 Jan 2021).
• Competitive PIs must have already shown research independence and evidence of maturity by having produced several important publications as main author or without the participation of their Ph.D. supervisor.
• PIs should be able to demonstrate a promising track record of early achievements appropriate to their research field & career stage, e.g. significant publications (as main author) in leading international peer-reviewed journals, invited presentations at well-established conferences, granted patents, awards, prizes etc.
• Applicants do not need to be employed by the host institution at the time when the proposal is submitted.
• Grant proposals are submitted by the PI taking scientific responsibility for the project, on behalf of the host institution.
• The PI has to spend at least 40% (≥0.4 FTE) of his/her working time on the project.
• The PI has to spend at least 50% (≥30 months) of his/her working time in an EU Member State or in an Associated Country.
• Applicants must submit scanned copies of documents providing his/her eligibility for the grant, i.e. their Ph.D. certificate.
• Researchers may participate as PI in only one ERC project at a time. Researchers participating as PI in an ERC project may not submit a proposal for another ERC grant, unless the existing project ends no more than 2 years after the call deadline.
• The host institution support letter needs to be printed on the paper with the official letterhead of the Host Institution, originally signed, stamped and dated by the institution´s legal representative.
• Copies of official documents can be submitted in any of the EU official languages.
• Document(s) in any other language must be provided together with a certified translation into English or into any other official EU language.
• The PI is expected to start the project within 6 months of receiving an invitation letter from the ERC.
• Applicants should be aware that it is mandatory to provide Open Access to all peer-reviewed scientific publications arising from results from ERC projects.
• The ERC recommends that all funded researchers follow best practice by retaining files of research data produced and used, and are prepared to share these data with other researchers when not bound by copyright restrictions, confidentiality requirements, or contractual clauses.
• The application form (participants) newly contains a ‘gender equality plan (GEP)’ yes/no tickbox to be filled in by the host institution contact person. This answer will not affect the evaluation of the project. In case the proposal is selected for funding, having a Gender Equality Plan (with minimum requirements) will be necessary before the grant signature.
