ERC Advanced Grants
What are the ERC Advanced Grants?
ERC Advanced Grants (AdG) support excellent PIs at the career stage at which they are already established research leaders with a recognised track record of research achievements. The pplicant must demonstrate the ground-breaking nature, ambition and feasibility of his/her scientific proposal. For more details see ERC Advanced Grants summary 2024
Who can apply for the ERC Advanced Grant?
Independent leading senior researchers from anywhere in the world who have a track-record of significant research achievements in the last 10 years (can be extended beyond ten years, in case of certain career breaks).
Why to apply for the ERC Advanced Grant?
- It is a prestigious opportunity to develop your own independent research laboratory and to undertake your breakthrough, high-risk research ideas.
- You can get financial support up to 2.5 M € for 5 years, the grant can cover up to 100% of the total eligible costs. (NEW for the 2024 call: ERC Advanced Grants are funded through a Lump Sum, not Actual Costs payment).
- Additional 1 M € can be available to cover (i) eligible “start-up” costs for researchers moving from a third country to the EU or an Associated Country; (ii) the purchase of major equipment; (iii) access to large facilities; (iv) major experimental and field work costs.
- You can do your research in any of the EU Member States (MS) or Associated Countries (AC).
When to apply for the ERC Advanced Grant?
The nearest call deadline ERC AdG 2024 is on Thu 29 August 2024 17:00 CET.
Please inform the Project Office about your intention.
