Our department carries out spectroscopic identification of natural compounds and synthetic intermediates using vibrational spectroscopy and circular dichroism spectroscopy. Standard infrared spectroscopy measurements are performed as well as other specialized techniques (microtechniques, temperature-dependent measurements, IR combined with gas chromatography, measurements in aqueous systems, ATR and diffuse reflection, kinetics measurements and equilibrium state analyses). We also provide measurements of Raman scattering spectra and Raman optical activity. We provide detailed data interpretation and analysis as standard. Complex or serial tasks are proceeded in cooperation with the requesters.
In addition to service activities, we are engaged in our own research focused on the spatial arrangement and dynamics of the components of living matter, especially proteins and peptides. We also deal with Raman microspectroscopy of living cells with the aim of determining the chemical composition of cell organelles.
