We provide support with the preparation of grant and fellowship proposals, excluding OP JAK calls.

We search for and share information on relevant funding opportunities, providing summaries for quick reference to the guidelines and support you with the preparation of your project proposal. The sooner we know about your intent to apply, the more time we have to help you. We provide you with materials to facilitate the preparation of the project proposal (especially the "soft" parts), to check the proposal and to resolve any discrepancies together.

Looking for research funding for your team?

This type of project is intended for a project team or a collaboration of several teams from one or more institutions. Finances for research activities, personnel costs or lab equipment can be sought.

Choose from a range of funding options for project team activities and select the grant scheme that best suits your requirements.

Search for grants according to:

  • career level of the principal investigator (Ph.D. student, postdoc, junior or senior researcher);
  • according to the country of the collaborating partner (project duration);
  • alternatively consult the alphabetical listing listing of all grants (incl. provider, timeline, career level or country).

Do you want to acknowledge an outstanding scientific contribution?

What internal IOCB support is available?

At the IOCB there are several types of internal support you can request.

Learn about internal funding options at IOCB:

  • IOCB Bridge Support – intended to bridge a temporary gap in a research group’s funding due to lack of success in obtaining external funding. Only group leaders may apply.
  • IOCB BridgeY Support – mainly intended to obtain preliminary results, verify hypotheses or complete publications for junior scientists who have not been successful in obtaining a grant in competition with more experienced colleagues. A postdoctoral researcher or junior scientist may apply.
  • IOCB Intramural Support – covers the cost of the preparatory phase of high risk/high gain research. It should enable preliminary results to be obtained and a hypothesis to be tested. Only group leaders may apply.
  • IOCB Postdoc Fellowship – is intended for postdoctoral researchers from prestigious institutions who are new to the IOCB. The fellowship covers salary costs and a travel allowance for conferences and workshops. Only the group leader may apply for the fellowship, the application is prepared together with the postdoc.
  • IOCB Doctoral Fellowship – is intended for Ph.D. students from foreign laboratories to initiate or enhance collaboration between IOCB teams/researchers and their counterparts from foreign laboratories through this short-term mobility (2-6 months) at IOCB. The fellowship covers salary costs. Only the group leader may apply for the fellowship, the application is prepared together with the Ph.D. student.
