Cell Culture Laboratory

Central laboratory of cell/tissue culture is intended for culture and propagation of cell lines and primary cells that are subsequently used for cytotoxicity screening and evaluation of other biological activities of compounds at cellular level. The laboratory is maintained under specific hygienic regime and therefore, the entry is restricted to the laboratory personnel to ensure the high quality of the services provided.

The list of the cell lines available can be found here  . An actual availability of the desired cells should be confirmed with the laboratory personnel. In case that the cells are stored in LN2 repository, the cells would need approx. 1-2 weeks to recover prior to the experimentation (depending on the cell type). We may eventually recommend to use an adequate alternative cell line if you are in a hurry.

The services provided

  • Preparation of the "take-away" cells for you own experiments. Service includes propagation of the desired cells in sufficient quantity and seeding into the plasticware/glassware of your choice at desired density. See Cell Culture Form  .
  • Procuring of cell line purchase, propagation and cryoconservation.
  • Mycoplasma detection in your cell lines.
  • Endotoxin detection in your samples.
  • Consultancy and assistance with the primary cell culture (PBMC, cardiomyocytes, neurons, hepatocytes) + design of suitable methodology for the organ toxicity evaluation.
