Amino Acid Analysis and LC-MS
Amino acid analysis instrumentation includes an Agilent 1260 rapid resolution HPLC station for sensitive amino acid analysis using o-phtaldialdehyde (OPA)-derivatization. It is an ultra-sensitive amino acid analysis of minute amounts of starting material, e.g. proteins attached to nanoparticles, or PVDF blots. The OPA-HPLC's limit of quantitation is 0.5-1.0 picomol. In the case of need we develop new methodology for non-standard amino acids and other compounds.
The LC/MS has been used in a wide range of studies, ranging from small peptides to large proteins, synthetic oligonucleotides, and coordination compounds. We use 6230 LC/MS TOF (Agilent Technologies) for the analysis.
