What is the JCC Fund Postdoctoral Fellowship?
The JCC Fund Postdoctoral Fellowships (JCC Fund) support 3-year research in life sciences focused on causes and treatment of cancer, e.g. the study of cell growth and development emphasizing the study of the basic biology and chemistry of the underlying processes. Who can apply for the JCC Fund Postdoctoral Fellowship?
Postdocs of any nationality with a Ph.D. completed no more than 24 months prior to the application deadline date and with no more than 18 months of postdoctoral research experience. U.S. citizens are eligible to work in any geographic location, non-U.S. citizens must work in a U.S. laboratory.

- Travel costs related to the attendance to a scientific meeting may be reimbursed after request ($1,800 is available for each fellow)
- One time relocation costs of up to $500 are covered for you and your family
- For fellows with dependants under 18, the Joan A. Steitz Fund will provide stipends for child care

How to apply for the JCC Fund Postdoctoral Fellowship?
- Find and read programme guidelines:
- Create your JCC Fund account.
- Find a supervisor from an excellent host research institution in the U.S. (e.g. Caltech, Columbia University, Harvard University, Johns Hopkins University, MIT, Princeton University, Stanford University, University of California, etc.) who will provide the best research environment, support & mentorship for your project. Negotiate mentoring of your postdoctoral research project and the institutional support of the host institution. Ask your mentor to fill a Sponsor Letter & alert the Grant Office at the host institution that they will need to countersign the application.
- Contact three referees (one has to be your Ph.D. advisor) and ask them for their willingness to critically appraise your research qualifications.
- Fill in names and contacts details of three referees and mentor(s), and department chair and grant and contract or financial office,
in the JCC Fund account,

button by Tue 31 Jan 2025 12:00 noon. Referees should receive an email from the JCC Fund with detailed information on how to submit a confidential Letter of Reference. Referees have to submit their Letters of Reference by Thu 01 Feb 2024 12:00 noon. - Complete and finalise your online application in your
JCC Fund account.

- Research Project(250 words of Abstract, Proposal – 2 pages of text, Literature (no limit), max. 2 pages of Figures);

Letters of Reference and Signatures: email invites are sent via Temelio directly to the Advisors and referees (Proposed Postdoctoral Advisor Form, 3 Letters of References – one of them by PhD advisor, Information for Authorized Fiscal Signature Document – obtained from Fiscal Sponzor at the proposed Institute);

- Ensure submission of other mandatory documents prepared by referees, mentors and host institution. These documents have to be submitted by

- Three Letters of Reference (one should be written by your Ph.D. advisor, use instructions sent by the JCC Fund) (referees);
- Proposed Postdoctoral Advisor Form (use instructions sent by the JCC Fund) (mentor & host institution);
- Authorized Fiscal Signature Document - obtained from Fiscal Sponzor at the proposed Institute.
JCC Fund will announce evaluation results in mid May 2025.
Successful applicants may start their research projects on 01 Jul 2025.
