What is the V4 + KOR JRP?

The main objective of the Visegrad countries and Korea initiative (V 4+ KOR JRP) is to develop high quality research networks and to pursue state-of-the-art science and technology through collaboration in order to realise innovative and strong economies and societies in the participating countries. The calls aim to promote sustainable and multilateral research cooperation, in particular to foster transnational mobility between researchers from the V4 countries and Korea by enhancing inter-regional communication and cooperation; increasing and developing opportunities for high-quality research networks between researchers; developing new partnerships and strengthening existing partnerships; and exchanging existing and creating new knowledge. Czech research teams are supported by the MEYS. This call focuses on Clean Energy and Bio and Material Fields. See more details in the V4-KOR JRP-2023 Summary  .

Who can apply for the V4 + KOR JRP?

Consortium of at least 3 eligible partners: one from Korea and two from two different V4 countries (senior researchers, junior researchers, postdocs) represented by the principal project leader from Korea.

How to apply for the V4 + KOR JRP?

  1. Find and read guidelines:

  2. Identify relevant project partners and further team members you would like to work with. Negotiate and justify roles, activities and responsibilities of all partners in the project. Designate the Korean Project Coordinator of the consortium, who will be responsible for a submission of the joint proposal via electronic submission system.
  3. Contact the host institutions and negotiate the institutional support. For IOCB official agreement is necessary to complete the project request form  . Please, contact the Project Office.
  4. Together with other PIs elaborate the research idea. Work closely with the other PIs and allow time for others to review the draft proposal. The information given in the proposal is binding.
  5. The Korean Project Coordinator must register the joint project proposal in the electronic submission system and fill in online sections of the application. Read and follow Guidelines V4-KOR JRP-2023 Guidelines  .
  6. Participate the preparation of the V4-KOR JRP-2023 Proposal template   (use template uploaded from the submission system).
    Proposal consists of following parts:
    • A: Project Summary, Financial Summary, Work packages Summary, General information;
    • B1: abstract, objectives, project description, scientific excellence, project coordination and management, history of the collaborative project (max. 2 pgs. each part);
    • B2: work plan (max. 3 pgs.) work packages;
    • B3: importance of international cooperation: expected impact of project results, added value of multilateral cooperation (max. 2 pgs. each part);
    • B4: Budget plan and justification;
    • Short CVs (max. 1 p/main partner.

    Be aware that eligible costs and funding provisions may vary according to the respective national/regional funding organizations’ regulations.

    • Budget restriction for Czech partner the MEYS: Max. contribution is €125,000 per project. The eligible costs are in accordance with Act. No. 130/2002 Coll. See more details  
  7. Jointly finalize the offline application form (respect the format and length limitation of each section) and convert all parts to a single PDF document and upload it to the project account using the electronic submission system. Ensure that the data uploaded to the electronic system are identical with the data in the offline application form.

    Please be aware that the online data entry may be overloaded on the days of the deadlines. It is therefore recommended to transfer all obligatory data in good time.

  8. Complete mandatory national application for a relevant provider:
    For Czech partner the MEYS: there is no need for an additional application. Please contact the Project Office for support with the submission (Statutory declaration).

Deadline for submission of the joint proposal (done by the Korean Project Coordinator) and national application to the MEYS is on Fri 12 May 2023 12:00 (midday) CEST (IOCB deadline Wed 10 May 2023).

  • Final results will be announcement in the end of June 2023.
  • The grant start date is expected in the end of July 2023.
