What is the FEBS Summer Fellowship?
FEBS Summer Fellowships (FEBS Summer) are awarded to young promising Masters and Ph.D. students in a FEBS country wishing to gain practical scientific experience in biochemistry and molecular biology in an institution located in another country within the FEBS area. Who can apply for the FEBS Summer Fellowship?
Masters and Ph.D. students currently engaged in research who have not yet submitted a doctoral thesis and who are working in a laboratory in a FEBS member country.

- You can do your research visit in FEBS Member states: Armenia, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom (with Irish Area Section); FEBS Associate Members: Belarus, Moldova, Morocco, Tunisia.

The nearest FEBS Summer deadline FEBS STF call is on Tue 1 Apr 2025 17:00 CET.

How to apply for the FEBS Summer Fellowship?
- Find and read programme guidelines:
- Negotiate the arrangements for your short stay research visit with your IOCB supervisor and request authorisation to submit the proposal via the internal electronic IOCB Project Proposal Approval System (PPAS). You must be either connected to the IOCB network or via the IOCB Virtual Private Network (VPN) to access this system.
- Contact one referee from your home institution and ask him/her for references and recommendations.
- Establish your FEBS account and activate contact details of the referee in the system.

Complete and finalise your online application form on the FEBS account.
- Short description of the work (max 2 A4 pages uploaded in PDF format) (applicant)
- Short CV with a list of publications in the format required by the FEBS Journal (applicant)
- Host acceptance form (head & supervisor of the host institution)
- Letter of support: opinion on applicant´s practical skills, scientific curiosity, dedication, strong/weak points and degree of maturity (referee from the institution where the applicant has worked or studied)
- Submit your application online before Tue 1 Apr 2025 17:00 CET.
Applicants will normally be informed of the outcome of their application by 15 June 2023.
