DAAD RISE Worldwide
What is the DAAD RISE Worldwide?
The DAAD RISE Worldwide program offers research internships for German Bachelor students in the fields of natural sciences and Engineering. Research institutes all over the world can participate and submit offers for summer 2025. This programme supports the selected students with a monthly scholarship. Who can apply for the DAAD RISE Worldwide?
Host Institutions (e.g. IOCB): Postdocs, junior researchers, senior researchers.German Bachelor students in natural sciences, medicine & engineering at their 2nd semester.
Why to apply for the DAAD RISE Worldwide?
- You can become a short-term supervisor of a German Bachelor student for 6 weeks – 3 months. The internship can be realised between 01 Jun and 31 Oct 2025.
- You can support career development of a promising German student.
- It can be a nice opportunity how to find a talented German student for a PhD project in your lab.
- It can be a nice opportunity how to develop collaboration with your research partner in Germany (e.g. at Universität Heidelberg, Freie Universität Berlin, Universität Göttingen, Universität Bonn, Karlsruher Institut für Technologie, Technische Universität Berlin, Universität Leipzig, Universität Stuttgart, etc.).
- You can read, evaluate, select and rank all applications of students who are interested in your project.
- The timeframe of the internship is individually arranged between the student and you.
- DAAD scholarship for living costs, travel costs, health, accident & personal liability insurance is paid directly to German students. Monthly allowance depends on target country.
When to apply for the DAAD RISE Worldwide?
The nearest DAAD RISE Worldwide deadline is on Mon 30 Sep 2024 for foreign supervisors, respectively on Sat 30 Nov 2024 for German Bachelor students.

- Prepare your Project offer (max 1 page).
- Name, contact data & www of the supervisor
- Scientific research questions
- Experimental approach
- Possible prospective tasks of the intern
- General information about the work group, the university & the region
- Finalise your online application on your DAAD account.

- Submit your online application on your DAAD account.
- Be ready to read, evaluate, select and rank all applications of students who are interested in your project offer. Students may apply to your project between 15 Oct and 30 Nov 2024. Evaluation students application 13-24 Jan 2025.
DAAD will announce final selected students & internships in March 2025.
Internships may be realised between 01 Jun and 31 Oct 2025.
