What is the TAČR Sigma DC2?

TAČR Sigma DC2 (provided by Technological Agency of the Czech Republic) is the program for encouraging the involvement of early career researchers in all fields of applied research and equal opportunities for women and men in applied research.

Who can apply for the TAČR Sigma DC2?

Program support the teams of at least 3 young scientists (one of them must be a principal investigator). Young scientist is a person under 35 years, either student of bachelor/master/doctoral studies or graduated no more than 5 years ago (parental leave and long-term sick leave excluded). Involvement of a mentor, who is a person with relevant research experience (no age limit) is optional. Project proposal must always include at least one entity in the role of research organisation and one entity in the role of enterprise. Eligible organization are Czech research organization and enterprises, organizations seated abroad may appear as co-applicant.

Why to apply for the TAČR Sigma DC2?

Approved projects get financial support for implementation of the research, Program provides a unique opportunity for young researchers to establish their own research team and bring the results of research to application.

When to apply for the TAČR Sigma DC2?

The nearest Call is open from 09 Feb 2023 by 05 Apr 2023.

How to apply for the TAČR Sigma DC2?

  1. Mind the language: Documentation is available only in Czech and the proposal must be delivered in Czech.
  2. Find and read programme guidelines (documentation in Czech only):
  3. Set up a team of young researchers, find a cooperating business partner, consider finding a mentor.
  4. Register to ISTA system and prepare project proposal.
  5. For IOCB official agreement is necessary to complete the project request form  .
  6. Contact the Project Office.
  7. Complete all parts of your project proposal (use the project proposal template):
    • Project identification & project applicants identification
    • Project introduction (relevance to the program, aims, activities, results implementation, application garant description, risk analysis)
    • Research team description
    • Results and outputs
    • Financial plan
    • Objectionable opponents
    • Mandatory annexes
      1. Mandatory annex for result types NmetS, NmetA, NmetC (if applicable)
      2. Details of the beneficial owner of the foreign partner and an affidavit from the other foreign partner, including the financial items needed to calculate the distressed company for the years 2019, 2020 (if applicable)
      3. Financial statements for 2019, 2020, 2021 including confirmation of sending to the registry court if they have not yet been published
  8. Submit your project via ISTA system before 05 Apr 2023 16:30.
  9. Submit sworn statement for each applicant via their own databox before 05 Apr 2023 23:59 CET
  10. 10. After submission of the project, the Project Office will submit a confirmation of submission via data box (datová schránka) before 05 Apr 2023 23:59 CET.

Apr 2020 Final evaluation results will be announced in Oct 2023.
The project implementation will start earliest in Jan 2024..
