What is the INTER-ACTION?

INTER-ACTION is the sub-programme of the INTER-EXCELLENCE II programme (MŠMT/MEYS) that aims to support participation of research groups from Czech research organisation in bilateral research projects based on signed international agreements about cooperation in R&D with countries outside the European Union (e.g. China, Israel, India, USA, Korea). Conditions may vary based on the bilateral agreements.

Who can apply for the INTER-ACTION?

Scientists from research organisations, SMEs and large enterprises based in the Czech Republic – one Czech main proposer and maximum one other Czech partner. US partner must secure their own funding. Please note, that MEYS project proposals must be written in Czech.

  How to apply for the INTER-ACTION LUAKR25

  1. Find and read programme guidelines (documentation in Czech only):
  2. Contact your US colleague and ask him/her for confirmation of your cooperation via the Letter of Intent   and ask him/her via the Letter of Intent  . There is no central US funding body, therefore the US colleague needs to secure his/her own sources of funding. For IOCB official agreement with grant submission it is necessary to enter the request into the Project Proposal Approval System.
  3. Contact the Project Office in advance if another Czech partner will participate in the project. The Partner agreement draft is a mandatory annex to the project proposal. The Project Office will also provide you with a Signed Statutory declaration of eligibility to realise the project Čestné prohlášení o způsobilosti k řešení projektu.
  4. Register for ISIX on-line application system. Using the login details you have obtained, fill in the organization details Údaje o organizaci. Create a new Project proposal PROJEKT for the current call.
  5. Prepare a budget using the internal IOCB budget template (e-mail projectoffice@uochb.cas.cz to request this) and have this checked by the Project Office.
  6. Prepare all parts of the Project proposal Návrh projektu (Contact details of the Czech and foreign proposers and their institutions; project annotation, introduction and justification of international collaboration, joint research proposal – field of research and upload of joint project proposal, project and research team; budget and justification.) offline, using the IOCB Internal template. Please note that the section of the project proposal in ISIX must be prepared in Czech, except for specific parts indicated.
  7. Finalise all parts of your project proposal in the ISIX on-line application system.
    • Project proposal Návrh projektu: copy-and-paste the section from the our template to avoid the system timing-out whilst you write parts online.
    • Annexes uploaded to the ISIX system:
      1. a. CV of the main PI and other key team members “Životopis hlavního řešitele a klíčových osob”; Annex 7D
      2. PDF file with graphics (pictures, tables, diagrams, literature…), that can be part of the proposal (attached as PDF due to the technical limitation of the web application). Annex 7F
      3. Letter of Intent – confirming future collaboration on the joint project (“Doložení záměru spolupráce”) Annex 7C
      4. Signed Statutory declaration of the eligibility to realise the project “Čestné prohlášení o způsobilosti k řešení projektu” must be uploaded to the application (required for IOCB and other Czech partner institutions). Annex 7A
      5. Proposal of the Agreement on participation in the project “Návrh smlouvy o účasti na řešení projektu” (agreement between Czech partners – if relevant); Annex 7B
      6. Special licences (if required for project implementation) Annex 7E
  8. In the Project - ISIX application all sections have to be completed. Even if a green tick symbol is shown, it does not necessarily mean that everything is completed. If all sections are complete, then the button UZAVŘÍT PROJEKT PŘED PODÁNÍM appears next to the button NÁHLED in section 1A PŘEHLED PROJEKTU.
  9. Convert your finalized project proposal into PDF format. To do this, you must close the project proposal by selecting the Uzavřít projekt před podáním option. A PDF of the proposal will be generated together with the first page of the proposal must both be sent by email (without further modification to avoid disrupting the electronic seal!) to the Project Office (projectoffice@uochb.cas.cz) who will arrange for the signature page to be signed by the director and submit the proposal and signature page to the MEYS via its data box. Due to the need for the signature page to be signed, do not leave proposal closing until the very last minute!

The Project Office will submit your final project proposal via data box (datová schránka) before Wed 9 July 2025 23:59:59 CET (IOCB deadline Wed 2 July 2025).

Final evaluation results will be announced by 17 Dec 2025.
Project implementation can start from 1 Mar 2026.
